Dear Commissioners: It’s 8:00 AM! Do you know where your Director of Governmental Coordination is?

Our investigation into Scott Brannon, the Director of Governmental Coordination, continues and we have received additional information related to our public information request we submitted before Christmas.

If you missed our previous article, we examined keycard access logs for Somali Scott.

Like Somali children in a Minnesota daycare center, he rarely shows up for work at any county building. And if he does show up he is almost always late and never works a full day. Here are some key takeaways from that article:

  • Swiped into a county facility on just 112 days in 2025
  • Only swiped in two or more times on 66 working days
  • Only swiped in “on-time” before 8:00 AM just once
  • And only made it into work by 9:00 AM on just 15 other days

Where does Somali Scott Brannon…ahem…”work”?

When we submitted our public information request, we asked where Brannon actually works. Meaning…where is his physical workstation that he is supposed to report to each morning?

Here is the response we received:

Notice that there is no indication that Brannon has been given permission to work from home.

Brannon does not occupy a trade or other assignment that would require him to be in the field multiple times each week. One would logically assume that an employee in his role would be expected in the office virtually every day of the week in some capacity barring out-of-town conferences or legislative obligations in Tallahassee.

As we shared in our previous article, there is no record of Brannon taking any PTO vacation or sick days in 2025.

There are 250 working days a year and Brannon shows up less than half the time.

Stop the Good Ol’ Boy Grift!

Somali Scott was once an elected member of the Walton County BCC but opted to not seek re-election when he issued a bizarre public statement blaming a citizen watchdog for his decision. He would then go on to be the political aide for Commissioner Trey “N-Word” Nick.

And now the politically connected good ol’ boy serves as a government liaison who rarely shows up for work and is seemingly clueless about $84 million land purchases made by the State of Florida.

When will the raping and pillaging of Walton County taxpayers by the “Good Ol’ Boys” stop?

We need elected members of the Walton County BCC to start asking some tough questions about the role, purpose, work product, and attendance of Scott Brannon.
