This morning, around the time that most people are getting ready for work or have already begun their commute, Scott Brannon found himself getting booked into the Walton County jail on what appear to be some sort of assault and battery charge.
“Somali Scott” is the director of governmental coordination and supposedly represents Walton County in Tallahassee at meetings with state legislators and in regional meeting with other city and county leaders. When you see his mugshot one has to wonder if he is representing drug dealers.
Of course, as we know from previous articles, Brannon was in no way, shape, or form even thinking about going to work on a Thursday morning. We have documented his timecard fraud and highlighted how his building access and computer sign-in logs show that he rarely ever shows up to the office.
In 2025, there was only one instance where Brannon showed up to work before the posted 8 AM start time at the administration building. And he only showed up 15 times before 9 AM. Over a span of about 14 months, he only sent 29 emails.
His mugshot is stomach churning as you can see what appears to be visible open wounds and puss sores on both cheeks.
Does this look like a guy that was at his desk yesterday pounding out memorandums and legislative briefings?
Brannon is a former county commissioner who is politically connected and protected by the Good Old Boys, like Commissioner Danny Glidewell. He previously worked for Trey Nick, the former commissioner who owns Nick’s Seafood. Nick lost his 2024 election campaign after his text messages where he called blacks the N-word and monkeys were released.
Glidewell posted a video defending Brannon two months ago on his Facebook page. It was so insulting to the intelligence of the average person that he must really think Walton County voters are morons.
Maybe Brannon who is supposed to work a white collar office job doesn’t have one of those fancy computer gizmos and teleports to his office.
And please remember that Glidewell ran for office in 2018 as a fiscal conservative who believed the county was wasting taxpayer dollars. Yet, Brannon has been getting a paycheck for years without having to do any real work.
How does it feel to be a Walton County taxpayer and know that you are going to work each day so that you can pay taxes and effectively pay for what appears to be Brannon’s drug habit…er…allegedly?
